Eight men have been charged after detectives investigating terrorism funding uncovered an illicit tobacco importation syndicate operating in Sydney’s south-west.

Two men have been arrested by the Queensland Joint Organised Crime Task Force (QJOCTF), following an alleged conspiracy to import 300 kilograms of cocaine into Australia from Peru via Singapore and Papua New Guinea (PNG). One woman has also been arrested and charged with dealing in proceeds of crime.
Operation WALWA has targeted an online marketplace of child abuse material since 2018 and has resulted in 16 people arrested on 738 charges in Australia.
Most significantly, Operation WALWA also saw four children rescued from further harm.

Members of a Melbourne-based criminal syndicate, with alleged links to Italian organised crime, have been charged for conspiring to import over 500 kilograms of cocaine from PNG into Australia.
An ongoing Queensland Joint Organised Crime Taskforce (QJOCTF) investigation has resulted in the arrest of a third man for his alleged involvement in a criminal endeavour to import almost 600 kilograms of cocaine into Australia on 31 July 2018.
